2024新澳门原料网点站One of the highlights of the 12th Brazil AgrochemShow held last week in Sao Paulo, Brazil, was a lecture by Dr. Paul Smith, PhD, CEO of SRM Chemical, USA. Speaking on the theme, “US-China Trade War”, the expert pointed out that the latest decision of the US government directly affected the agrochemicals sector.

That is because the decision taken by US President Donald Trump to impose additional tariffs of US$300 billion on new unaffected Chinese products includes a list of 12 pesticides that are widely marketed by the Asian Giant to northern formulators.

The new 25% import tariff on Chinese products, according to the US government, is due to take effect from September 1, 2019. “Many of these agrochemicals are not available with US suppliers and this is worrying because it could increase prices for US farmers and cause a loss of jobs in the agricultural sector,” said Smith.

The list of agrochemicals to be taxed:
Oxyfluorfen
2,4-D
Dicamba
MCPA
Bromoxynil
Chlorothalonil
Glufosinate ammonium
Ethephon
Glyphosate
Atrazine
Metribuzin
Simazine
